On April 5 2024, Cabeolica signed the new Expansion Project contract with Electra and the Government, aimed to install new turbines in the Santiago Wind Farm, as well as battery storage in Santiago and Sal Island.

This initiative will double wind energy generation in the country, which alone will meet the country's energy transition targets, achieving a renewable energy penetration rate of 30% by 2025.

The ceremony was presided over by the Minister of Industry, Trade, and Energy, Alexandre Monteiro, who emphasized the importance of this action for the future of Cabo Verde. Representing Cabeólica at the event was its CEO, Bruno Lopes, who also highlighted the significance of an investment that is structural and represents approximately 50 million euros.
