Cabeólica's new expansion project comprises the installation of 3 wind turbines of 4.5 MW and batteries energy storage systems (BESS) with operation set to commence in the final of 2025:
- Expansion of the Santiago wind farm by + 13 MW.
- BESS in Santiago, Sal, São Vicente and Boavista
- Additional generation of 75 MW per year.
- Increase of renewable energy penetration rate from about 20% to about 30% in Cape Verde, still in 2025.
