Cabeolica was invited by the United Nations to participate as a speaker at the Carbon Neutral Now launch event that took place on September 22 at the United Nations headquarters in New York, having been represented by Ana Monteiro, Head of Environment, Social and Administrative Department .

Carbon Neutral Now (www.climateneutralnow.org) is an online platform where any entity (individuals, families or companies) can buy carbon credits produced by clean projects as a way to cancel the emissions managed by the purchasing entity.

The event was chaired by the Executive Secretary of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, Christiana Figueres. Also participating as speakers were the Chairman of the Executive Board of CDM, representatives of Microsoft and Marks & Spencer plc.

This invitation came after Cabeolica was the first Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) project in Cape Verde and one of the few CDM projects in Africa.
