Cabeolica participated at the ECOWAS Sustainable Energy Forum, organised by the ECOWAS Center for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency from 13-15 of November 2018 in Dakar, where MESA presented the project as a flagship project of reference within the region.

Cabeolica International Conference and Fifth Anniversary Celebration
In March 2017, Cabeolica promoted an international conference to discuss the performance during the first five years of operation as well as its impacts on the country and in the ECOWAS region. The event was held at the Pestana Trópico hotel in Praia, and counted on distinguished local and international speakers that promoted an open debate on renewable energies and the Public-Private Partnership model adopted by Cabeolica. Following the conference, and during the closing cocktail, the guests were able to visit an exhibition that summarized Cabeolica’s five years of operation.

Cabeolica participates every year in FIC – Cabo Verde International Expo. The company was present once again in the 2016 edition that took place in the city of Praia. With an assiduous presence in the event, Cabeolica initiated its commemoration of its fifth years of operation. During the fair, the company displayed to its visitors a stand showing the importance of the activities it develops within the 4 islands, including its contributing in aiding Cabo Verde in reaching its renewable energy targets. At its stand this year, the company highlighted the EOLO project, an educational program focused on renewable energy and energy efficiency for children in the 4th grade throughout Cabo Verde.

Cabeolica speaks at event organized by United Nations to launch Carbon Neutral Now program
Cabeolica was invited to speak at the event to launch the Carbon Neutral Now program, which took place on September 22, 2015 at the United Nations headquarters in New York. Carbon Neutral Now (www.climateneutralnow.org) is an on-line platform where any entity (individuals, families or businesses) can purchase carbon credits produced by clean projects as a way of cancelling the emissions generated by the purchasing entity. The initiative comes from the United Nations entity that deals with climate change issues, and the event was chaired by the Executive Secretary of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, Christiana Figueres. Other speakers at the event included the CDM chairman of the board and representatives from Microsoft and Marks & Spencer.

Cabeolica became a member of the ECREEE Business Advisory Council and panellist at the ECOWAS Renewable Energy Policy and Investment Forum
The ECOWAS Center for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (ECREEE) invited Cabeolica to become a member of the ECREEE Business Advisory Council (BAC), an advisory body composed of companies and financial institutions in the ECOWAS region. The Council has the purpose of advising ECREEE on adequate business conditions in the renewable energy sector and was officially launched on September 16 2015 during the ECOWAS Renewable Energy Policy and Investment Forum. The Forum took place in Abidjan between 14-16 September 2015 where the Cabeolica CFO, Bruno Lopes participated and shared the Cabeolica experience in the panel “How are Governments triggering RE Grid Connected Private Investment”.

AFC Live Summit
Cabeolica’s CEO, Antão Fortes, was invited to the first Africa Finance Corporation Infrastructure Investment event titled “AFC Live: Bridging The Infrastructure Investment Divide,” held in Lagos, Nigeria on 25 March 2014 where he participated in the Energy Sector panel. The theme for the event was “Infrastructure Development: the Engine to Accelerate Africa’s Growth”.

ITC International Conference
Cabeolica’s CEO, Antão Fortes, was invited to participate as panelist in the International Conference in Electrical Systems with High Renewable Energy Penetration organized by the Technological Institute of the Canaries and which took place between 8 and 10 July in the Canary Islands.
