This support will allow Cabeolica to install 13.5\u202fMW of new wind capacity and integrate 26\u202fMWh of battery energy storage (BESS).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The expansion is expected to generate over 60\u202fGWh of clean energy annually, significantly reducing dependence on thermal generation and avoiding approximately 50,000 tons of CO\u2082 emissions each year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This investment marks a crucial step toward Cabo Verde\u2019s target of achieving 50% renewable electricity by 2030, aligned with the goals of the Paris Agreement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThis approval is international recognition of Cabeolica\u2019s ongoing efforts and the country\u2019s commitment to the energy transition.
