BEGINNING<\/span><\/div>\n\t<div class=\"wpb_text_column wpb_content_element  no-margin history-details\" >\n\t\t<div class=\"wpb_wrapper\">\n\t\t\t<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Cabe\u00f3lica is a Public Private Partnership (PPP) established in 2008 between Infraco Limited, a privately managed infrastructure development company financed by funds from some European Union countries (which acted as the\u00a0<em>project's<\/em>\u00a0main developer), the Government of Cape Verde, through the Ministry of Tourism, Industry and Energy, and Electra, SARL, a local concessionaire.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The PPP had as goals, the development, financing, construction, ownership and operation of four wind farms in Cape Verde, with a total installed capacity of 25.5 MW, distributed by the islands of Santiago (9.35 MW), S\u00e3o Vicente (5.95 MW), Sal (7.65 MW) and Boa Vista (2.55 MW).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Thus, the company's main goal is to produce electricity for the national grid under the regime of independent producer, using wind energy, non-polluting, renewable and naturally abundant.<\/p>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"wpb_column vc_column_container vc_col-sm-6\"><div class=\"vc_column-inner\"><div class=\"wpb_wrapper\"><div class=\"wpb_wrapper\">\n\t\t\t<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In 2010, Africa Finance Corporation, a Pan-African development finance institution based in Nigeria, and the Finnish Fund for Industrial Cooperation, a Finnish industrial development institution, joined Cabe\u00f3lica as strategic reference partners and majority investors.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Also in 2010, having secured long-term loans from the African Development Bank and the European\nInvestment Bank, Cabe\u00f3lica signed a comprehensive engineering, procurement, construction and installation contract with Vestas\u00ae, one of the world's leading wind turbine manufacturers. The contract guaranteed the construction of four wind farms equipped with 30 V52-850 kw wind\nturbines, the respective substations, access roads and transmission lines. It was inaugurated by the Prime Minister of Cape Verde, Jos\u00e9 Maria Neves, and the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Cabe\u00f3lica, Oliver Andrews, on October 21, 2011.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">At the end of the year, the construction of the S\u00e3o Vicente wind farm was completed. The wind farm started feeding energy into the grid (test phase) in October 2011 and the takeover certificate\u00a0<em>takeover<\/em>\u00a0was signed on December 28, 2011.
